Screen fatigue

I wonder if pure and simple screen fatigue will ensure the future of the printed book.

I was listening to a radio programme live from the Edinburgh Book fair discussing the issue with punters. One girl sagely said that she liked ebooks for study and research but preferred the printed form for leisure. I think that makes perfect sense.

There is room for both.

I appreciate the scope of a car but I love the perfection of my bicycle which needs nothing but my effort to power it. Likewise I appreciate the scope of ebooks but I love the perfection of a book which needs nothing but my eyesight to bring it to life.
