Cufflinks

It is clear that the UK political scene is lacking in women. I wonder whether it is because they just can't be arsed - their children and family usually take priority in their lives so they end up taking work that suits their situation rather than their potential.

Of course I may be wrong. But many of the women I know are great organisers of the lives of their nearest and dearest. Sometimes I find that I have left the house without looking in a mirror to check what I look like, never mind sprucing myself up.

Yet when I look at the leaders of the political parties and those around them, I am struck by one, well actually two things. Cufflinks. I know it is rather petty but I rather resent the fact that not only do these guys have time to faff about with cufflinks they also run the country.

I think all is not quite right with the world. But how do you rectify it?

By the way, it is good to be back, and nice to hear from Catdownunder.

Nice to know you are back too Caroline - Australia currently has a female PM - and probably will have after Saturday. Not sure is the best example though.
Our State Opposition leader is a female, New South Wales and Queensland each have a female Premier, Victoria has had a female Premier.
It happens, but yes more males than females.
