Nod off down under

Last time I wrote speculatively to Australia was after watching Crocodile Dundee. So that dates it to 1986.

For those who think email is the bee's knees, the postie can be just as breath-taking. I had fallen in love with CrocodileD's jacket (a rather lovely snakeskin affair). Full of youthful hope, I wrote a letter to him asking if I could have it. I addressed the letter:

Crocodile Dundee
Paul Hogan
Australia

Within three weeks I had a reply. Sadly not the jacket (it was required for the sequel), but a letter and a signed photo of the man himself astride a crocodile.

Let's hope my package to Australia gets an equally exciting response.
