Diagonal thinking

I have been trying to wean myself off internet scouring. Which means scouring for:
a) sales of the nod offs - generally through Amazon and Gardners (the book wholesalers)

b) checking blogs of other small independent publishers to see how they are faring

c) following Susan Hill's blog which is interesting both on a book and living level.

Now for some reason Susan Hill's blog has disappeared under the label 'exceeded bandwith'. I fear she may have given up blogging. She stepped back from the internet for the month of July and the realisation of what she could do with all the spare time and how little she missed the beast may have something to do with it.

Since then I have wondered if having a blog is a good thing. If you are like me, you bypass homepages that showcase the products for you to buy, and click straight into the blog to check out the lives of others. I am always interested to note that the blog entries that receive the most feedback are generally to do with the blogger's personal life (I am sure Scott Pack got the most comments on his 'me and my big mouth' blog when he told us all how he had met MOTC - mother of the children). And photos of Susan Hill's newly born puppies draw in a huge collective ooh aah comment.

Anyway, it's just a thought I throw out into blogosphere.
