Welcome to all new visitors, particularly those from ALL.
We are delighted to put onto the website the lovely new covers for Nod off in Portuguese and Nod off in Grammar & Punctuation. Even if you didn't want to learn Portuguese before, you may just be tempted now.
For those interested in joining the 10 words per week club, there is a slight technical difficulty with the sample 10 words pdf which you should be able to click on and see. We hope to sort this early next week. In the meantime, you can always email caroline@publishingcupboard.co.uk for further information.
This really is a good way of exploring words. Dictionaries are great, but they often don't have room to give the story behind the words. The story may simply be one that lets us show how a slightly irregular plural is formed. It may be one that reveals roots stretching into the English language. We hope to include photos of signs and labels which can also shed light on how the language is used in everyday situations and prepare you for a visit to the country. We currently supply the words for French, Spanish and Italian, but we plan to start a 10 words per week English word club for those learning English.
We hope you enjoy visiting The Cupboard. We welcome any feedback or suggestions for future titles. Ones that we are hoping to bring out next year are: Nod off in Latin, Nod off in English, Nod off in Japanese, Nod off in Welsh and Nod off in Gaelic.
